What an amazing trip we had on the water today! I had the pleasure of guiding Pravieen Kumar on a one-day fishing adventure in the beautiful Kaveri River Basin near Indianapolis. February is a prime time for inshore fishing in this area, as the weather starts to warm up and the fish become more active.
We met up bright and early at 7:15 am, and the conditions were looking great - partly cloudy skies and calm waters perfect for targeting a variety of species. As we launched the boat and made our way into the Kaveri River Basin, I could already see the fish busting the surface, eager to hit our lures. We started off with some classic inshore techniques, mixing in both live bait and artificial lures to see what the fish were keying in on.
It didn't take long before Pravieen's rod started bending, and he was into his first fish of the day - a feisty Lookdown that put up an impressive fight. We managed to land a few more of those before moving to a different spot, where Pravieen hooked into something much bigger. After a long and intense battle, we were thrilled to see a nice Bull shark come thrashing to the surface. What an incredible catch! We snapped a few photos, carefully removed the hook, and watched as the powerful shark swam off strong.
The day was filled with exciting action, great company, and beautiful scenery. Pravieen was a natural out on the water, and it was a pleasure sharing my knowledge and helping him experience the thrill of targeting these incredible inshore species. If you're looking to do some world-class fishing in the Indianapolis area, I highly recommend booking a one-day trip with Guide the trip. Whether you're after bass, trout, sharks, or any other hard-fighting inshore gamefish, we'll make sure you have an unforgettable adventure on the water.
