Looking for a personalized trout fishing experience that puts you right in the sweet spot of some seriously productive waters? Our intimate single-angler trips are designed for folks who want quality over quantity – just you, your guide, and some of the best trout fishing you'll find anywhere. Whether you're a seasoned fly fisher or just getting your feet wet, this is your chance to dial in your technique and really focus on reading the water without any distractions.
This isn't your typical crowded charter where you're elbow-to-elbow with other anglers. With our single-guest capacity, you get the full attention of your guide and complete flexibility to fish at your own pace. We'll start early when the fish are most active, and your guide will read the conditions to put you on the most productive runs and pools. Expect to cover different water throughout the day – maybe starting with some deep pools where the big browns like to hang out, then moving to faster riffles where rainbows are actively feeding. Your guide knows these waters like the back of their hand and will adjust the game plan based on what the fish are telling us. No meals are included, so pack a lunch and plenty of water – we'll be out there making the most of every fishing minute.
We'll match our approach to what's working best on any given day. Early season often means nymphing deep with split shot and indicators, getting those flies down where the trout are holding in the slower winter water. As things warm up, we might switch to dry fly fishing during hatches – there's nothing quite like watching a trout rise to your perfectly placed Adams or Blue Winged Olive. Your guide will have you covered with the right gear, but if you've got a favorite rod setup, bring it along. We fish everything from pocket water that requires short, accurate casts to longer pools where you can really stretch out your line. Streamer fishing is also a go-to technique here, especially for targeting larger fish that are looking for a bigger meal. Your guide will coach you through reading water, mending your line, and picking the right spots where trout like to feed and rest.

Brook Trout are the jewels of these waters – native fish with incredible colors that really pop when you get them in the net. These beauties typically run 8-12 inches but don't let their size fool you; they fight hard and are incredibly selective about what they'll eat. Brooks love cold, clean water and are most active during the cooler parts of the day. Spring and fall are prime time for brook trout fishing, when water temperatures are in their sweet spot. They're opportunistic feeders but can be super picky, making them a favorite challenge for technical anglers. When you hook into a brook trout, you'll notice their aggressive strikes and acrobatic fights – they'll use every inch of their stream to try and shake your hook.
Rainbow Trout bring the acrobatics to your day on the water. These silver bullets are known for their jumping ability and strong runs, often heading straight for fast water when hooked. Rainbows in these waters typically range from 10-16 inches, with some real beauties pushing 18-20 inches if you're lucky. They're active throughout the day but really turn on during insect hatches. Spring through early summer is when rainbows are at their most aggressive, fresh from their spawning runs and feeding heavily to bulk back up. They're less finicky than browns and more willing to chase streamers or grab a well-presented nymph. The fight they put up makes every rainbow a memorable catch.
Brown Trout are the smart guys of the trout world – they didn't get big and old by being stupid. These fish are the ultimate prize, often lurking in deeper pools and undercut banks during the day. Browns can reach impressive sizes here, with fish over 20 inches definitely possible if you play your cards right. They're most active during low-light periods – early morning, late evening, and overcast days are when your chances go way up. Fall is prime time for brown trout fishing as they become more aggressive before their spawning season. These fish will test your skills like no other trout – they're quick to detect poor presentations and won't hesitate to break you off in structure if you're not on top of your game. Landing a quality brown trout is what keeps anglers coming back year after year.

Brook trout are the jewel of cold-water fishing - small but scrappy fighters that'll test your skills in tight spots. These native beauties typically run 8-14 inches and love pristine streams with temps below 68°F. You'll find them tucked under fallen logs, behind boulders, or in deep pools where the water stays cool and clean. Spring through early fall offers the best action, though they can be finicky when the sun's high. What makes brookies special? Their wild colors - olive backs with yellow spots and those signature red dots rimmed in blue. Plus they're fantastic eating. They're spooky fish, so here's the key: approach quietly from downstream and keep your shadow off the water. Small flies and spinners work best in these narrow streams.

Brown trout are the smart kids in the trout family - they grow big, live long, and know every trick in the book. These golden-brown fish with black spots average 12-20 inches but can push well over 24 inches in good water. They love deep pools, undercut banks, and any cover they can find during daylight hours. Browns thrive in slightly warmer water than other trout, making them perfect for our varied conditions. Fall is prime time when they feed aggressively before spawning, though night fishing can be deadly effective year-round. What draws anglers back? These fish fight smart and hard, using every inch of the river. Plus they're excellent eating with firm, flaky meat. Here's an insider tip: browns are cautious during the day, so try fishing the darker, deeper holes with streamers or live bait. They'll often ignore what other trout hammer.

Rainbows are what most folks picture when they think trout fishing - that pink stripe down the side gives them away every time. These fish typically range 12-16 inches and fight like they're twice that size, known for those aerial shows when hooked. You'll find them in faster currents and cooler depths, especially around rocky structure and gravel beds. They prefer water temps between 55-64°F, so spring and fall fishing is prime time. Guests love chasing rainbows because they're aggressive feeders and strong fighters that'll test your drag. The pink flesh makes for excellent table fare too. Pro tip: during summer heat, focus on early morning or late evening when they move shallow to feed. Watch for rises and match whatever insects are hatching - they're not usually picky when they're feeding actively.
